El Paso International Airport protects against Covid-19 using UVC Technology

In the war effort against the novel Coronavirus is a new frontier being fought with new technology and it has put the virus in retreat. El Paso International Airport, one of America’s foremost early adopting and forward-thinking airports took a stance against microbial threats in the combat against COVID–19 and economic rehabilitation. The airport conducted a three-week test of a range of UVC disinfection technologies in partnership with Safe Disinfecting Inc., a startup that has introduced new COVID-fighting technologies. The results from the test verified SDI’s ground-breaking technologies and showed that they provided protection against COVID–19 as well as viruses, mold, spores and bacteria.

“We feel extremely fortunate to have been afforded the opportunity to act as a test location for Safe Disinfecting, Inc.”, said Tony Nevaré, Assistant Director of Aviation, ELP. “Our hope in working with SDI is that we are able to ensure a safer facility for our passengers, tenants and employees through efficient and effective disinfection technology and protocols.”

Safe Disinfecting Inc, SDI is a woman and minority owned small business specializing in the deployment of disinfecting technologies and delivering clean environments by providing products and solutions that eliminate harmful pathogens.

Said founder of SDI, “Our mission is to improve global disinfection to rid the world of harmful pathogens by deploying new technologies developed with robustness and simplicity in the most economical away; we are dedicated to returning safety in the workplace back to our workers and rehabilitating the global economy.”

In her deployment of this ground-breaking tech, ELP used SDI’s “multi-layer UVC approach” utilizing SDI’s broad portfolio of products.

Utilizing a multi-layer UVC approach, ELP has deployed Safe Disinfecting Inc’s broad portfolio of products across its facilities to fight and eliminate pathogens.

  • The Foton Defender, one of SDI’s premier inventions used at ELP, is an in-ceiling disinfection device. With advanced Finite Element Analysis (FAE) computer modeling, efficacy testing and illumination tracing, the Foton Defender is breaking new ground with whole room disinfection. Deployed in the custodial break rooms, Customs offices, badging offices and the foreign trade zone.
  • SD850 UV Robots – 254nm technology is being used to disinfect rooms using UVC Light. Being used to disinfect all public restrooms.
  • Safe Disinfecting SDC120C Chamber – A UVC disinfection table top chamber is being used to disinfect personal belongings such as badges, cell phones, tablets, keys and more all in under two minutes.
